Evaluating a promising strategic alliance in healthcare.
A leading healthcare organisation, with a broad portfolio of services and a regional intramural healthcare organisation, agreed upon an outline of a strategic alliance to position itself for a strongly changing healthcare market and regulation environment. Based on the outline, the business case had to be elaborated and analysed to gain more insight into the strategy, attractiveness and feasibility of an alliance.
What is the business rationale for the strategic alliance?
We helped the management to clarify a common strategy, to assess the synergy potential and to determine in which areas the company should cooperate, and how. We identified the most important synergy areas and business opportunities and clarified the most beneficial strategic options. Strategic options were elaborated and quantified, if possible, enabling the two companies to evaluate and value the options. Based on the business case, the companies decided upon the best course and were able to present the costs and benefits to all stakeholders.
